About MMRCA:

Background Information:

The Medical Management and Research Courses for Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-for profit, non-political, humanitarian organization established in March 2008 by Afghan Health Professionals and is registered as an NGO with the ministry of economy (MoE) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

MMRCA has been implemented SEHAT-II, SEHAT-III and SEHATMANDI (BPHS+EPHS) Projects in Ghazni, Badghis and Faryab provinces. Currently MMRCA has been awarded the Health Emergency Response Projects Samangan and Sar- e-Pul.

Through HER Samangan project MMRCA has been providing quality health services to the entire population of the province according to BPHS and EPHS guidelines and MoPH policies/ strategies.  These services are providing through 3 DHs, 4 CHCs, 14 BHCs, 21 Sub-centers, 1MHT and prison health center, Similarly, Sar-e-Pul has a total of 71 HFs including 3-DHs, 9 CHCs, 20 BHCs, 32 PHCs, one MHT, 5 FHHs and one Prison Health Center.

MMRCA invites and encourage eligible candidates to apply for the position of TSFP Project Manager located at Samangan province.

Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities

  • Management of Nutrition/TSFP programs: Developing nutrition projects action plans, support HFs staff in the implementation of TSFP project activities.
  • Training and capacity building of staff on Nutrition/TSFP: Continuously assessing the knowledge of the project-staff involved in TSFP project.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and supportive supervision from the projects.
  • Ensure on time and quality reporting of activities related to the TSFP programs within the deadline to the stakeholders.
  • Ensure external coordination with nutrition stakeholders, close collaboration with Samangan PPHD.
  • Represent  MMRCA in external meetings (Nutrition Cluster meeting and other task force as assigned by line manager.
  • To provide reliable, accurate and timely information and reports for planning and facilitate and strengthening of the quality TSFP project.
  • To timely compile, analyze and interpret weekly and monthly reports.
  • To ensure and adherence to establishing well-organized monthly coordination meetings in provincial office TSFP project staff, PPHD and partners and follow up of decision has been made in the monthly meetings.
  • To ensure good communication and coordination among Public Nutrition in the Provincial Offices and HFs and other implementing partners and key stakeholders pertaining implementation and reporting system maintained.
  • Overall management of TSFP, IMAM in the Provincial Offices and HFs as well as ensure the HFs level of knowledge and identify their needs for training.
  • Conduct on the job training and coaching for the provincial office staff and health facilities staff during the supervision visits.
  • Conduct training to build the capacity of the TSFP staff.
  • Following up of monitoring of action plans of external monitors including the WFP, PPHD, MoPH and other partners.
  • Facilitate recruitment of the nutrition staff in health facilities in collaboration with other officers.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by line supervisor

  • Graduated from recognized medical university or Public Health.
  • At least 5 Years’ managerial work experience in nutrition or in public health management with government or non-government organization, UN Agencies or other development organizations
  • Proven skills in using online and offline databases
  • Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language and fluent in local languages;
  • Be able to travel to the Health Facilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexible and able to multi-task,
