Job Descriptions:

  • Conduct regular field visits to assess livestock health and well-being in crisis-affected areas.
  • Monitor livestock conditions and identify any signs of illness, malnutrition, or stress due to environmental factors.
  • Work with veterinary teams to ensure timely vaccination, deworming, and treatment of livestock.
  • Supervise the equitable distribution of livestock feed, supplements, and other resources to beneficiaries.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of feed distributed aligns with project standards and meets the needs of livestock.
  • Develop and promote appropriate feeding guidelines for livestock owners, especially during crisis periods.
  • Collect data on livestock health, mortality rates, feed distribution, and veterinary services, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assist in preparing regular project reports on livestock interventions, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Ensure that all livestock-related data is documented and stored securely in line with project protocols.
  • Engage with local community leaders, livestock owners, and stakeholders to facilitate project activities and ensure community participation.
  • Build relationships with communities to promote trust and collaboration in livestock management interventions.
  • Collaborate with other project teams to integrate livestock interventions with broader food security and livelihood activities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of livestock interventions, including the health and productivity of animals.
  • Identify gaps or challenges in livestock activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in project evaluations to assess the impact of livestock interventions on community livelihoods and resilience.

Job Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree in Veterinary Business Administration, Agriculture , or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in livestock management, animal health, or veterinary services, preferably in protracted crises or humanitarian contexts.
  • Proven experience working with rural communities and livestock owners in conflict-affected or crisis-impacted areas.
  • Experience in livestock health monitoring, feed distribution, and veterinary care services.

Commitment and Dedication:

  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to organizational policies
  • Willingness to travel to provinces when planed by the management
  • Willingness to work outside official hours

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
  • Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
