Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Water Supply Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in water supply engineering and a proven track record in managing water supply projects. This role involves leading project implementation, ensuring high-quality standards, and effectively managing resources and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Execution: Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of water supply projects, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project goals.
• Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical support and leadership to the project team, including training and managing staff to meet quality and performance standards.
• Design and Development: Lead the design and execution of water supply solutions, incorporating community feedback and data analysis to enhance project outcomes.

Project Management:

• Data Management: Develop and oversee systems for tracking project progress, quality management, and data analysis to support continuous improvement and reporting.

Financial and Resource Management:

• Budget Oversight: Implement and monitor the project budget, ensuring financial controls and reporting are in line with company procedures.
• Procurement: Manage procurement processes and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of project resources.

Staff and Team Management:

• Performance Management: Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to team members. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Training and Development: Provide coaching and support to develop team members' skills and enhance their contributions to project success.

Communication and Coordination:

• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including beneficiaries, community leaders, and government officials, to ensure cooperation and successful project outcomes.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports, adhering to internal policies and donor requirements.

Quality Assurance:

• Standards Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to industry standards and best practices, including donor proposals and international standards such as Sphere and Core Humanitarian Standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement quality management systems and develop strategies for ongoing enhancement of project processes and outcomes.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Water Supply
• The Ministry of Water and Energy of Afghanistan conducts exams for engineers working with private water supply companies. Successfully passing these exams certifies their qualifications and demonstrates their expertise in the field.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years’ experience in water supply project management, with a total of at least five years in the engineering field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Experience with cloud-based file management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Water GEMs and GIS.
