Job Descriptions:

The Fundraising and Proposal Writing Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to secure funding for the organization. This position focuses on identifying funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and nurturing relationships with donors and partners to ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization.

What You’ll Be Working On:

As the Fundraising and Proposal Writing Officer, you will be responsible for the following key areas:

Developing and managing fundraising strategies:

Create and implement an annual fundraising plan to achieve financial targets.

Lead integrated fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email appeals, newsletters, and donor care communications.

Proposal Writing and Grant Management:

Develop and submit high-quality proposals to donors, foundations, and grant-making organizations.

Work closely with program teams to align proposals with organizational goals and project needs.

Managing the Regular Giving Program:

Oversee donor stewardship activities, including personalized communication and recognition efforts.

Monitor and report on the growth and performance of the Regular Giving Program.

Building and nurturing donor relationships:

Establish and manage a robust donor stewardship strategy to strengthen relationships and increase donor retention.

Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key donors and stakeholders.

Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices:

Stay updated on industry best practices, fundraising trends, and donor regulations (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection Act).

Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legal and ethical standards.

Innovating and improving processes:

Identify areas for improvement in fundraising processes and propose innovative solutions.

Collaborate with internal teams to optimize donor engagement and fundraising efficiency.

Your work will directly contribute to securing funding that drives the organization’s mission and enables impactful field-based projects.


Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.


At least 5-6 years of professional experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations.

Proven track record of writing successful proposals and securing funding from international donors, foundations, or corporate sponsors.


Familiarity with donor funding mechanisms, such as USAID, EU, UN agencies, or other international organizations, is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, Dari and Pashto.

Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and tailor proposals to donor priorities.

Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and team members.

Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative fundraising strategies.

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
