Job Summary

The Market Research Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth market research and analysis on the minerals and hydrocarbons sectors. This role aims to provide valuable insights and data-driven recommendations that inform policy development, strategic decision-making, and sector planning. By analyzing market trends, opportunities, and challenges, the Coordinator supports the ministry’s efforts to optimize sector performance and align strategies with industry dynamics.

Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Conduct comprehensive research on current and emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the minerals and hydrocarbons sectors.
    2. Conduct minerals value chain studies.
    3. Utilize a range of research methodologies to gather and analyze data on market conditions, competitive landscapes, and industry developments.
    4. Develop detailed market reports, forecasts, and assessments that provide actionable insights for policy and strategy formulation.
    5. Analyze complex market data and translate findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for senior management and policymakers.
    6. Prepare high-quality market research reports, executive summaries, and presentations that effectively communicate research outcomes and strategic implications.
    7. Collaborate with industry experts, stakeholders, and external consultants to gather and validate market information.
    8. Engage with industry representatives and other key stakeholders to enhance the accuracy and relevance of market data and insights.
    9. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that research findings are integrated into broader policy and strategic frameworks.
    10. Provide data-driven recommendations to support the development and adjustment of policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with market realities and sector needs.
    11. Support the development of sector strategies by providing market insights that inform strategic priorities and decision-making processes.
    12. Monitor and evaluate the impact of market trends on the ministry’s objectives and strategic goals.
    13. Utilize market analysis tools and software to conduct research and analyze data effectively.
    14. Stay updated on advancements in market research methodologies and tools to ensure the use of best practices

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and experience

  • Master Degree in, Economics, Public policy, Business Administration and any other relevant fields (PHD Preferred).
  • At least 1 years (if PHD Holder) of work experience in relevant fields. 
  • At least 3P years (if Master Degree Holder) of work experience in relevant fields.
  • Fluency in English, Dari, Pashto languages and Microsoft Office programs.
  • The Incumbent should have sound knowledge of the policy development. 
  • The Incumbent should have strong written and oral communication and other interpersonal skills.

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes Required

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in market analysis tools and software (e.g. SPSS, Minitab, Tableau & etc...).
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey research findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
