A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points.  

About Hospital:

AFGA is in the process of establishment of a 20-bed hospital in Kabul, aimed at providing quality Reproductive Health services to mothers and newborns. The hospital will be fully equipped with modern medical equipment, facilities and staffed by experts.

As part of a long-term development plan, hospital services will continuously expand, serving as the central hub for AFGA outreach and small Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to refer patients needing advanced care. The hospital will adhere to national and international standards for patient safety and quality service, ensuring it meets the needs of target communities.

 

Job Descriptions:

Summary of the job:

He will be responsible for the performing the all IPD and OPD lab examinations and reporting of the exams, organizing, and storing of medical equipment, lab reagent, and blood, ordering of Lab reagent. and blood transfusion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Promoting related matters and facilitating all aspects related to transfusion and laboratory examinations.
  • Collecting, receiving, processing, labeling and/or analyzing biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) Operating and maintaining lab equipment like microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers.
  • Ensuring the storage and maintenance of related equipment, and Lab reagent specially the sensitive reagent, and blood.
  • Blood transfusion.
  • Ensuring that safety guidelines are adhered to at all times with the laboratory.
  • Maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Recording all experimental data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and / or electronic).
  • Maintain and document all testing activities, sample information, and test results in the hospital's medical records system or paper-based logs. Maintain organized and up-to-date records.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment.
  • Collecting the figures of the relevant department.
  • To express an opinion for improving the performance of the blood bank/laboratory to the hospital administration.
  • Perform 24-hour resection according to the time schedule prepared by the hospital administration.
  • Strict adherence to all infection prevention conditions and adherence to medical uniform during official times.
  • Participating in the meetings of the sub-committee of the affairs and voting work of his/her respective department.
  • Ordering laboratory supplies as needed.
  • providing technical support when necessary.
  • Pursuing the compliance and strict adherence to the standards set in the related department.
  • Active participation in the quarterly evaluation of the prescribed procedures in the relevant department.
  • Participating in the preparation of the standards work plan according to the quarterly evaluation and follow-up of the prepared work plan.
  • Refraining from illegal acts and practices.
  • Observing all regulations and discipline of the hospital

Job Requirements:

  • Be certified from a recognized institute of health sciences (medical laboratory).
  • 2-3 years working experience as a clinical lab technician in a recognized hospital.
  • Adherence to strict ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Should have skill of good communication Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Should have skill of computer.
  • Should have good interpersonal communication.
