Job Descriptions:

The SBC Officer will design, implement, and evaluate social and behavior change strategies to enhance maternal and child health outcomes. This role involves community engagement, capacity building, and collaboration with health providers and stakeholders to promote healthy behaviors.

  1. Program Development:

   • Develop and implement SBC strategies tailored to maternal and child health.

   • Conduct formative research to understand community needs, beliefs, and practices.

  1. Community Engagement:

   • Facilitate community dialogues and workshops to raise awareness about maternal and child health issues.

   • Engage with local leaders, health workers, and community groups to foster support for health initiatives.

  1. Training and Capacity Building:

   • Train healthcare providers and community health workers on effective communication strategies.

   • Build the capacity of local organizations to implement SBC interventions.

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation:

   • Design tools for monitoring and evaluating SBC activities.

   • Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of interventions on health behaviors.

  1. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to align efforts.

   • Participate in health coordination meetings to ensure integrated approaches.

  1. Advocacy:

   • Advocate for policies that support maternal and child health initiatives.

   • Develop communication materials that promote key health messages.

  1. Reporting:

   • Prepare regular reports on SBC activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.

   • Share findings with stakeholders to inform future programming.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Midwifery or a related field;

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in public health or social behavior change programs, preferably in maternal and child health.

 

• Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in community mobilization and engagement.

  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in project management.
