Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) will oversee and manage all aspects of the construction projects for new school buildings, renovations, and expansions. The CPM will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Coordination:

    • Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to finalize project designs and specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and educational standards.
  • Budget & Financial Management:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates and manage project budgets.
    • Monitor and control project expenditures to stay within budget.
    • Process and approve contractor payments and change orders.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management:

    • Select and hire subcontractors and vendors through a competitive bidding process.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
    • Oversee the work of subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Project Execution & Oversight:

    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or delays.
    • Manage construction schedules and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
    • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
  • Communication & Reporting:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication with school administrators, community members, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Address and resolve any project-related issues or conflicts promptly.
  • Quality Control & Assurance:

    • Ensure that construction work meets all quality standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct inspections and oversee testing to verify compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
    • Address and rectify any defects or issues in construction work.

Job Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on educational facilities or similar projects.
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
    • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Certifications:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
