The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. NAC works in the following sectors: Education, Gender and Human Rights, Governance and Civil Society, Health, Food Security, Job Creation, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Follow up with daily HR tasks, maintain accurate employee records, including personal information, attendance and leave records
Follow up with daily and monthly attendance records and reports back to head of HR for further process on staff salary
Updating staff personnel files monthly
Preparing contracts and all kinds of letters based on need
Creating ID cards for all (fixed term, temporary, project base) staff of NAC
Providing letters to the new employe of NAC to receive TIN and Work permit
Follow up the requirement plan according to assigned task from head of HR & Personnel
Coordinate and participate in the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates
Posting jobs and RFQs through ACBAR and information the person responsible for collecting the CVs
Conduct reference checks and employment verifications
Prepare employment contracts and facilitate the onboarding process
Facilitate new employee orientation programs
Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and efficiently
Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
Assist in resolving conflicts and promoting a positive work environment
Creating and distributing documents to the employees
Updating Kabul staff contact list and receiving the update list from all the regions
Participating in recruitment process
Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process
Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
Preparing and creating new employee personnel files
Maintaining current HR files and databases
Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
Maintaining records related to grievances, performance review and disciplinary actions.
Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exist interview.
Maintain employee records (soft and hard copies)
Update HR database (new hires, separations, vacation and sick leaves)
Updating HR related issues
Provide orientation for new employees by sharing onboarding packages and explaining company policies
Develop and maintain a filing system
Any other tasks assigned by supervisor
Languages Required
Oral and written fluency in Dari, English and Pashto
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA), Commerce (B. Com), Economics, development studies or any other relevant education fields.
Work Experience
2-3 years’ relevant experience, especially within NGOs, UN agencies or similar organizations.
