Job Descriptions:

The Proposal Writer will be responsible for developing high-quality, impactful proposals to secure funding and support for HHRO’s projects. This role requires exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to transform technical and programmatic information into clear, compelling content that aligns with HHRO's mission and values. The Proposal Writer will work closely with various departments to gather information, understand project needs, and ensure submissions are aligned with donor guidelines and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Proposal Development:
    • Draft, review, and submit funding proposals and concept notes for local and international donors.
    • Research and identify funding opportunities that align with HHRO's programs and goals.
  2. Content Creation and Formatting:
    • Write, edit, and format content that communicates project objectives, methodologies, and expected outcomes in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
    • Ensure all proposals meet donor-specific guidelines and standards.
  3. Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth research on relevant social, economic, and humanitarian data to support proposals.
    • Stay informed about trends in the humanitarian sector and changes in donor priorities.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with project managers, program staff, and finance teams to gather necessary information for proposal content.
    • Liaise with external partners and stakeholders as needed to enhance proposal quality and accuracy.
  5. Review and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all proposals are free from errors and inconsistencies and meet high-quality standards.
    • Maintain consistency in messaging and language aligned with HHRO’s mission and core values.
  6. Document Management:
      • Organize and maintain a library of proposal resources, including templates, past proposals, and supporting documentation.
      • Track submission deadlines and ensuring timely submission of all documents.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in, English, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in proposal writing, grant writing, or NGO management are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or a similar role within a non-profit, humanitarian, or development organization.
    • Proven track record of successful proposals submitted to donors such as UN agencies, INGOs, or government bodies is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Dari or Pashto is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document formatting tools.
    • Knowledge of humanitarian standards, donor requirements, and funding landscapes.
