English Teacher

Afghanischer Frauenverein e.V.: AFV is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political humanitarian aid organization registered with the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan and has been working in the field of Education, Health, WASH, Vocational skills development, and humanitarian emergency response in Afghanistan since 1992. With a Country Office in Kabul and over 200 local staff members countrywide, AFV is implementing sustainable relief programs that are mainly in the rural areas, focusing on supporting children and their families in extreme poverty. Today AFV is engaged in over 21 relief programs serving over 200,000 people per year all over the country. The organization provides technical and financial support to five schools in Kabul, Kunduz and Ghazni provinces; runs vocational training courses for people with disability in Kabul and Ghazni; provides safe drinking water for poor communities in remotest parts of some provinces; supports seven Basic Health Clinics (BHCs) in Kabul Province; and delivers humanitarian assistance particularly in partnership with other local partners.

Major Responsibilities:

• The English teacher is a vocational educator in the field of English Language specially, general at all and relevant skills.
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, discussion, and collaboration.
• Provides appropriate resources and learning materials for the teaching and learning of learners and educators.
• Incorporate technology and modern teaching methods to enhance learning experiences.
• Encourages creativity in learners.
• Make sure some extra materials are prepared and provided for students
• Runs the classroom within the allocated budget.
• Conduct teaching and instructional activities, using educational equipment, materials, books and other learning aids.
• Provide group and individual instruction to motivate participants and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.
• Maintain and record data and report as required by supervisor.
• Evaluate progress of each student, flag student problems, and provide monthly reports to AFV Management.
• Able to work overtime on weekends or holidays if, asked by the supervisor or program 
• She is required to be adaptable for larger tasks not specified in this framework.
• She will be back up for absent teachers of the school in her morning shift and will responsible for teaching English classes in winter learning camp.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (English degree is preferred)
• 2 Years of experience in related field.
• Having basics skills of computer (office program);
• Strong content and pedagogical knowledge of curriculum textbooks
• Could speak fluently in Pashto, English and Dari
