Job Summary

 

The General Manager will oversee the operations and strategic direction of a group of companies within Loxdon GoC. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of excellence across all entities. The General Manager will work closely with executive leadership and department heads to ensure alignment with the overall vision and objectives of the group.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities:

1)     Strategic Leadership:

·       Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability across the group of companies.

·       Analyse market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for expansion and diversification.

·       Collaborate with executive leadership to set long-term goals and performance targets.

·       Develop company monthly, quarterly and annual strategic plan, and make sure all the activities of the company are in line with the strategic plan objectives and deadlines.

2)     Operational Management:

·       Oversee daily operations of all companies within the group, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in processes.

·       Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance operational performance.

·       Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational performance to the executive team.

·       Oversee daily operations of staff members over the departments and make sure their conducts are inline with the company goals and objectives.

·       Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

·       Ensure operation team are update and informed market conditions, competitors` activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

3)     Financial Oversight:

·       Prepare and manage annual budgets for each company, ensuring financial targets are met.

·       Analyse financial reports and metrics to make informed business decisions.

·       Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all entities.

4)     Team Leadership:

·       Build and lead a high-performing management team across the group of companies.

·       Foster a positive organizational culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional development.

·       Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and mentorship to managers.

·       Analysis company supply chain processes, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels.

5)     Stakeholder Engagement:

·       Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and suppliers.

·       Represent the group in meetings, conferences, and industry events.

·       Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors and provide updates on business performance and strategic initiatives.

6)     Risk Management:

·       Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

.        Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards across all companies.

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in a senior management role, preferably in a multi-company or group structure.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of managing diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Skills:

  • Strategic thinking and vision.
  • Financial acumen and budget management.
  • Change management and organizational development.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Office and financial related IT tools and applications.

Work Environment:

  • The position is almost office based but randomly need provincial and site visit trips.
  • Will attend internal and external meetings on behalf of company CEO.
