OXUS Afghanistan started Operation in 2005 under support of ACTED, a development and relief NGO, which is operating in twenty five Countries of the world, and Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA). Currently, OXUS Afghanistan has a portfolio of over AFN 994 million with an outreach of about 42,707 customers managed through 27 Branches, 12 provinces. OXUS Afghanistan is a part of OXUS Group, a global network of Microfinance Institutions created by ACTED, a leading international NGO operating in 25 countries. OXUS Afghanistan was created with funding from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), a Government Apex agency set up by international donors in 2003 in order to develop and support the microfinance sector in Afghanistan. OXUS Afghanistan Provides Islamic financing. OXUS -Afghanistan has individual and group lending which helps Afghan people have access to finance. OXUS-Afghanistan provides financing for youth and women as women improvement process and support them for better access to finance.
The Financing Expert Officer is responsible for marketing and finding new clients for Oxus, as well as conducting business appraisals to determine their eligibility for financing. The role includes maintaining a high-quality portfolio by ensuring the viability of financing provided and actively managing client relationships.
Marketing and Client Acquisition
a) Conduct market research to identify and target potential clients for Oxus’s financing products.
b) Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to attract new clients.
c) Network with business communities, attend industry events, and engage in outreach activities to build client leads.
a) Engage with prospective clients to understand their financing needs and explain Oxus’s financing solutions.
b) Assist potential clients through the initial stages of the financing application process.
c) Gather preliminary information to assess the feasibility of prospective client businesses.
a) Prepare and distribute promotional materials.
b) Utilize digital marketing tools and platforms to reach potential clients.
Business Appraisal and Financing
a) Collect and analyze detailed information on potential clients’ businesses, including financial statements, business plans, and guarantees.
b) Assess the credibility, viability, and risks associated with potential clients’ financing applications.
c) Perform due diligence to ensure that business plans and financial projections are realistic and that the proposed financing terms are suitable.
a) Ensure all financing application forms are completed accurately by clients, with a focus on the correct completion of the Business Profile.
b) Assist clients in providing necessary documentation and clarify any aspects of the financing application process.
a) Present findings and opinions during financing committee meetings to aid in the decision-making process.
b) Participate actively in credit committee discussions at the branch level.
a) Oversee the opening of financing accounts for approved clients and manage ongoing client relationships.
b) Conduct regular site visits to monitor clients' business performance and adherence to financing agreements.
a) Ensure timely repayments by maintaining accurate records of repayment schedules.
b) Follow up with clients to remind them of upcoming payments and address any potential issues promptly.
c) Coordinate with the recovery team to manage delinquent clients and initiate necessary recovery actions.
Coordination and Reporting
a) Work closely with the Financing Administrator, Branch Manager, and recovery team to maintain portfolio quality and manage risks.
b) Provide regular updates and reports on client acquisition activities and business appraisals.
a) Handle the processing of legal complaint notices for delinquent clients in coordination with the recovery team.
b) Ensure compliance with Oxus’s policies and regulatory requirements in all financing activities.
Education:
At least High School degree.
Work Experience:
Prior experience in Microfinance sector and Banks as Financing Expert Officer.
Skills:
Basic spoken and written English, strong spoken and written in local languages ( Dari and Pushtu) and strong negotiating and good communication skills.
