About Vision Development Organization:

Vision Development Organization (VDO) is an independent, social and legal non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization established in January 07, 2015. The organization is establish and run by an Afghan women with a strong and committed team to respond  to the development needs of Afghanistan such as; educational, advocacy, human rights, environmental, health and economical perspectives. VDO is committed to work for the welfare and progress of society with focus on abovementioned areas. 

VDO is executing continuation of the CBE classes that were transferred to us as the transition process in Badakhshan province, Raghistan, Yawan, Kohistan, and Yaftale Sufla districts for the duration of 9 months. The position candidate will be expected to start as soon as the recruitment process is completed.

The District Officer in Raghistan will be responsible to manage 85 classes in this district. The position holder will supervise the classes, and also the Community Mobilizers, Senior support Teachers and Support Teachers

Job Descriptions:

  • Develop and implement survey and needs assessment strategies for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and priorities.
  • Analyze survey results to provide valuable insights for program planning and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Impact Assessment Officer to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the impact of completed or ongoing initiatives on beneficiaries.
  • Conduct field visits to provinces to oversee data collection, assess community needs, and provide support to field teams.
  • Set up and facilitate interviews, both online and in person, to gather data for need assessment reports.
  • Utilize various data collection methods to ensure the gathering of comprehensive and accurate information.
  • Organize and facilitate feedback sessions with beneficiaries to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Work closely with the field team to ensure seamless coordination of assessment activities and integrate findings into regular project reports.
  • Advocate for community participation in the assessment and decision-making processes.
  • Lead the development of survey instruments, ensuring they align with the objectives of new initiatives and community needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify key indicators and variables for data collection.
  • Design sampling strategies and methodologies to ensure representative and statistically significant results.
  • Oversee the implementation of surveys and needs assessments, providing technical guidance to field teams.
  • Develop and implement data collection protocols, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and ethical standards.
  • Employ various data collection methods, including digital tools, to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Establish data management systems to securely store and organize collected data.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of survey data using relevant software (e.g., SPSS, R, or other statistical tools).
  • Interpret and draw meaningful conclusions from survey results, identifying trends, patterns, and key findings.
  • Collaborate with the data analysis team to ensure rigor and reliability in analytical processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing survey methodologies, data collection processes, and analytical findings.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on survey results to inform program planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure data visualization techniques are employed to enhance the clarity and accessibility of findings.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository for survey reports and data analysis outputs.
  • Implement quality control measures throughout the survey process to minimize errors and biases.
  • Conduct regular reviews of data collection tools and methodologies to enhance accuracy and relevance.
  • Train and supervise field teams in proper data collection techniques and adherence to protocols.
  • Regularly assess and refine survey methodologies based on lessons learned and advancements in surveying techniques.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and methodologies in data collection and analysis
  • Provide technical support to the Survey Officer and field teams during data collection, analysis, and reporting phases.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues related to data collection tools or methodologies.
  • Work closely with program managers and other relevant departments to integrate survey findings into project planning and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Impact Assessment Officer to align survey activities with impact assessment frameworks.

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (Master degree is prefered) in a relevant field such as social sciences, development studies, business administration, public administration
  • Minimum of 5years of experience in survey design, data collection, and needs assessment, with a focus on community development.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of evolving methodologies in surveying and needs assessment.
  • Willingness for traveling across Afghanistan provinces and districts
  • Strong verbal and writing English/Dari and Pashto.
