BRAC is a nongovernmental development organization originated in Bangladesh and currently working in 10 countries in Asia and Africa. BRAC began its operation in Afghanistan in 2002, has been implementing its development programs in education, health, citizens’ charter Afghanistan programme as well as capacity development in the country.
1. Identify new funding opportunities by researching donor website, attending various donor meetings and actively participating in engagement activities.
2. Review funding opportunities ensuring alignment with country strategy, organizational policies, programme priorities and country office’s capacity and resources.
3. Gather and analyze information on country’s context while developing thorough understanding of the requirements and guidelines of various funders.
4. Identify and establish potential partnerships and consortiums with different organizations, agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance resource mobilization efforts.
5. Develop high quality concept notes and proposals for different programs in consultation with relevant teams from Country Office, BRAC International Head Office and Grants, Resource Mobilization and Partnership team.
6. Ensures all necessary actions are completed throughout the proposal development process.
7. Builds and maintain strong relationships with representatives of potential donors to secure funding opportunities.
8. Communicate and coordinate regularly with programme and field staff as well as other departments on ongoing and planned programmes.
9. Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and workshops to advocate for its mission and foster networking opportunities.
10. Undertake any other duties and projects assigned, contributing to organization’s overall goals and objectives.
11. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
12. Practice, promote and endorse the safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in all activities.
13. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident and encourage others to do the same.
• At least 7 years of proven experience in a relevant field.
• Master’s in International Relations/Development Studies/ Economics/ Anthropology/Social Science or any other relevant subject.
• Proven track record of fundraising, and managing donor relationships.
• Proposal writing/ report writing
• Donor requirement understanding/conceptual skills
• Strong speaking and writing skills in English.
• Familiar with the development & humanitarian needs in Afghanistan.
• Good communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
