YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions.

Job Descriptions:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and perform public awareness programs androgenize awareness raising workshops accordingly within community as well as related government departments (MoLSA, MoJ, MoI. Etc).
  • Design and distribute brushers, leaflets and handout in community and to train participants.
  • Investigate allegations of abuse and neglect committed against children.
  • Lead community engagement activities to identify vulnerable populations and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide family mediation and reintegration services.
  • Conduct consensus dialogues with the victim's family, culminating in the family signing a commitment letter that they will not engage the victim in further TIP or other types of exploitation.
  • Provide awareness services for students and teachers in schools.
  • Perform interviews with any or all of the following: children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, educators, medical personnel, psychologists, etc.
  • Collect testimonial and documentary evidence, such as medical reports, arrest records, court documents, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage post-integration services for VoTIP in their respective provinces, ensuring seamless transitions and support for survivors.
  • Testify in court proceedings when needed.
  • Provide awareness and counseling sessions on life skills and child rights.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups of cases registered with the shelter.
  • Keep daily records in a confidential and safe manner.
  • Prepare daily and monthly reports for the direct supervisor.
  • Counsel patients' families/caretakers if needed.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to families to assess the situation of reintegrated children.
  • Assess and ensure the safety and protection of boys after family/society reintegration.
  • Refer clients' cases to external structures if needed and agreed upon with shelter management.
  • Perform any other tasks in line with the job description and assigned by the direct supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • University degree in social services, law, or psychology.
  • Experience working on human rights and access to justice related projects, ideally with children (1 year minimum).
  • Good knowledge of children’s rights and the child protection sector.
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
  • Able to provide reports on or before their due time and upon any further request by the immediate supervisor.
