Job Descriptions:

The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, backup, restore, security and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.

Duties explanation:

  • Perform a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, configurations and general support for Cisco, Sophos and Extreme network equipment.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure.
  • Perform highly complex duties in the design, development, integration and administration of the BMA’s networks.
  • Responsible for design of the BMA's network architecture, including switching, routing, overall network services, network security, and participates in researching technology alternatives and planning for expansion of network capacity.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex network performance and connectivity problems.
  • Designs and develops complex, multi-segment network infrastructure.
  • Designs, develops, installs, integrates and maintains the network physical infrastructure incorporating multiple technologies and protocols.
  • Installs, upgrades, replaces, configures, integrates and maintains network hardware, software and devices, including ASA firewalls, switches, routers, bridges, gateways and cabling and other wiring equipment.
  • Creates, reallocates or deletes subnets or virtual networks to improve performance and increase security.
  • Designs, develops, installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots the VoIP (Voice Over IP) CME (Call Manager Express) network infrastructure, including PoE (Power Over Ethernet) switches.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves server’s connectivity issues.
  • Administers network standards, including naming conventions and address protocols
  • Monitors, analyzes and manages network traffic and other conditions to achieve optimal performance and uptime.
  • Analyzes data to minimize network congestion.
  • Analyzes network capacity and growth requirements and recommends network infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to meet long-term BMA needs.
  • Designs, installs and administers new network security systems and methods.
  • Creates and maintains security rights on network resources.
  • Maintains and administers the firewall rule base and authentication systems.
  • Monitoring and prevention for network intrusions and security breaches.
  • Implements and enforces the enterprise network security policy and remote access standards and guidelines.
  • Connecting BMA HQ with branches and partners with Site-to-Site VPN IPsec.
  • Researches and evaluates hardware and software for compatibility, serviceability, design and performance.
  • Creates, and maintains written and verbal procedures.
  • Prepares written technical documentation, training material, standards, reports, and other documents as assigned.
  • Develops specifications and recommends for purchase of network related hardware and software.
  • Any other network related tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in networking, computer science, Information Technology.
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications are plus point.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Network Administration.
  • Significant experience working with Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco switches, Sophos firewalls and Cisco routers.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, including: TCP/IP, Vlans, Ethernet, switching, routing and routing protocols.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently. 
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of internal information.
  • Ability to work for long hours after official time.
