Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

 

IRW is seeking a highly motivated Supply chain Intern who will be responsible and accountable to support in all procurement/logistics/Admin/IT functions to ensure smooth, efficient and effective operations in accordance and in compliance with Islamic Relief Worldwide policies, local laws and donor requirements.

Under the supervision of Head of each Supply chain function, the Position will be supporting in conducting tasks related to procurement, Fleet, IT, Assets, Warehouse and inventory, Premise and Facilities and other administration functions.

Learning and supporting the organization's supply chain operations in Afghanistan will be a major responsibility of the supply chain Intern.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Procurement Management: Support in conducting the procurement transactions by preparing quotations, contracts POs, payments, screening, updating supplier data base, filing/archiving documents and all related procurement matters.
  • Fleet Management: Support in managing fleet department includes planning, operating movements, controlling and monitoring fuel consumption, best utilization of resources, contracting, managing drivers, maintaining vehicles and all other fleet tasks.
  • Assets Management: Support Assets department by managing assets, tagging, tracking, disposing, planning and all other tasks required.
  • Warehouse Management: Support in managing the warehouse department by managing inventory, storing, releasing, physical count, tracking, disposing, and all other tasks required.
  • Premises & Facilities: Support in managing premises including identification, selection, maintenance, contracting, services, tracking, documenting, reporting and all other tasks required.
  • Administration: Support the admin department by managing accommodation and travel requirements and all related matters related to Admin tasks.
  • ICT: Support the ICT (Information Technology department) by configuring, installing, updating, preparing, delivering and all related matters to ICT.
  • Other Tasks: Support in Compiling all reporters and trackers. Additionally, support in Archiving and filing all documents soft/Hard copies. Conduct any task related to the supply chain, Admin and IT requested by line manager as well the management.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualification:

 

  • Education: Fresh Graduate, bachelor's degree is required in supply chain, logistics, business administration, Economics, Information Technology, Public Relations or another relevant technical field.

 

  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English is required.

 

  • Computer Skills: MS Office, Word, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity
