Job Descriptions:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teacher Training & Capacity Building

  • Conduct training sessions for formal school teachers on pedagogy, classroom management, and subject-specific teaching strategies.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support through classroom observations and feedback.
  • Organize professional development workshops for teachers to enhance their skills in child-centered learning, inclusive education, and psychosocial support (PSS).
  • Coordinate with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Provincial/District Education Departments (PED/DED) to align training content with national standards.

2. Establishment & Strengthening of Learning Spaces

  • Support the establishment and equipping of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) with appropriate Teaching and Learning Materials (TLM).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of School Improvement Plans (SIP) in hub schools.
  • Conduct classroom observations to assess the quality of teaching and learning environments and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure TLS and hub schools are safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning, following Child Protection and Safeguarding guidelines.

3. Community Engagement & School Governance

  • Train and support the establishment and/or promotion of Community School Boards, Shuras, and Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) to strengthen community participation in education.
  • Conduct awareness sessions for PTAs and school staff on their roles in school management, child protection, and inclusive education.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, community elders, and education stakeholders to ensure project sustainability.

4. Education Assessments & Monitoring

  • Support data collection for Out-of-School Children (OOSC) mapping and Holistic Assessment of Learning and Development Outcomes (HALDO).
  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure the effectiveness of teacher training programs.
  • Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team to track project progress and impact.

5. Hygiene Promotion in Schools

  • Conduct hygiene awareness sessions in hub schools and operational areas.
  • Support the distribution and proper use of hygiene kits for students and teachers.
  • Work with school management and local health workers to integrate hygiene promotion into school activities.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in teacher training, education project implementation, or school capacity development.
  • Experience in formal education systems and EiE (Education in Emergencies) programs is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of child-centered, inclusive, and gender-responsive teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting assessments, monitoring education activities, and engaging with school management committees.
  • Ability to work in remote and insecure locations with limited resources.
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari (spoken and written) and working knowledge of English.
