Job Description
Job Summary:
Nutrition & Education International (NEI) seeks a skilled and reliable Driver to provide safe, timely, and efficient transportation services for staff, official documents, and goods. The successful candidate will maintain NEI vehicles in optimal condition, strictly adhere to traffic regulations, and support day-to-day logistical operations. This role requires a high level of responsibility, punctuality, and commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of NEI’s field activities.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks (oil, water, brakes, tires, etc.).
- Plan optimal travel routes considering traffic and road conditions.
- Deliver and collect official mail, documents, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and servicing.
- Report vehicle damages, mechanical issues, or accidents to the Transport Officer.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and roadworthy at all times.
- Strictly comply with Afghan traffic laws and NEI policies.
- Assist night shift guards when required; overnight duty may apply.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Important Notes:
- NEI is not liable for traffic accidents resulting from the driver’s negligence.
- The driver bears full responsibility for any violations of traffic laws.
- A valid and up-to-date driver’s license is mandatory at all times.
- The driver must not have a history of serious traffic accidents caused by reckless driving.
