Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

The Electrical/Solar Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring electrical and solar energy systems. This includes upgrading tower sites' power systems to solar, which involves cost estimation, budgeting, and the full implementation of solar solutions. The role also ensures the optimal performance of all systems, proactively identifies potential issues, and provides 24/7 technical support to ensure uninterrupted operations and timely maintenance for both office facilities and tower sites.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement both electrical and solar power systems, considering office requirements, operational needs, and tower sites’ upgrades to solar power.
  2. Upgrade tower sites’ power systems to solar, including performing cost estimations, preparing budgets, and overseeing the full implementation process.
  3. Conduct site surveys to determine the feasibility of installing solar power systems and assess the suitability of the site for solar panel installation.
  4. Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of all UA Telecom electrical devices, including generators, batteries, solar systems, stabilizers, and UPS units.
  5. Developing maintenance plans to ensure the long-term performance and durability of solar installations.
  6. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues across office and tower sites, ensuring rapid resolution of malfunctions or system inefficiencies.
  7. Provide technical support and collaborate effectively with on-site technicians or site guards to maintain system functionality.
  8. Continuously monitor and adjust power systems to ensure stable and reliable electricity for office and tower sites.
  9. Proactively generate innovative ideas for the improvement and optimization of the electrical network.
  10. Report directly to top management, providing timely updates on system performance, maintenance, and issues requiring attention.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  2. Proven working experience as an Electrical Engineer or Solar Developer.
  3. Experience in designing and implementing Electrical and Solar power systems.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in both English and local languages.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
