In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • Close coordination with HealthNet TPO provincial management and PEMT especially cold chain section.
  • Regular vaccine supplies to all 9 vaccination teams in both Asadabad and Dangam districts and perform EPI services to the target population in the target catchment areas.
  • Regular daily visits and supervision from all vaccination teams and social mobilizers.
  • Provide and supply required PPEs and hand sanitizers to all teams in both districts.
  • Collect biweekly activity reports from all vaccination teams as well as from social mobilizers and send them timely to the provincial office.
  • Provide technical support during supervision to immunization teams and social mobilizers at the target districts.
  • Active participation in all training/orientation sessions relevant to the RI acceleration campaign organizes by HealthNet TPO.
  • Inform and encourage all vaccinators and social mobilizers to participate in the training/orientations organized by HealthNet TPO.
  • Support implementation of NIDs or SNIDs at the target districts.
  • In case of AFP immediately report to the line manager.
  • Ensure that all district data of the ongoing campaign are entered in the relevant HFs registers.
  • Ensure that the social mobilization activities are performed properly.
  • Implement the MAAC campaign plan through vaccination teams and social mobilizers properly.
  • Perform any other required project–related tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Local resident
  • Graduated from 12th Grade and a nursing degree is preferable
  • One experience in supervision, immunization, and MAAC activities, received initial and refresher EPI training.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas for visits and supervision from outreach teams in the target districts.
  • Must be fluent in local languages.
