About Women and Childern Charity Support Organization (WCCSO):

Women and Children Charity Support Organization WCCSO” is a non for profit, non-political, non-sectarian and non-governmental organization registered with Ministry of Economy (MoE) at 7/10/2018 according to the final decision no. 4491 and is entitled to work in Afghanistan as an NGO. WCCSO is mandated to work for Social Services, Education, Food Security, Health Awareness and Agriculture. WCCSO established by a group of committed, dedicated and professional volunteers to offer result-oriented services to rural, urban slums and urban areas of Afghanistan. WCCSO’s services will be delivered through utilization of easy adaptable, well-received and participatory community empowerment strategies, as per the key principles of result-based management (RBM) approaches, and in line with Afghanistan national development priorities and national strategic plans.

Job Descriptions:

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the General Food Assistance (GFA) project, ensuring its successful execution and timely delivery to the designated beneficiaries. This role involves comprehensive project management, coordination with various stakeholders, and overseeing both in-kind and cash-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:

  • Develop and execute a detailed project plan encompassing timelines, budget forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and manage the project team, including field staff, logistics personnel, and monitoring staff.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with stakeholders such as local authorities, community leaders, and humanitarian organizations.
  • Track project progress, identify challenges, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Compile and submit regular progress reports, financial reports, and other required documentation.

2. In-kind Food Distribution:

  • Oversee the logistics of food transportation, storage, and distribution.
  • Manage third-party contractors or service providers involved in the logistics chain.
  • Implement transparent and accountable beneficiary targeting, registration, and verification processes.
  • Ensure fair and equitable distribution of food assistance.

3. Cash-based Interventions:

  • Evaluate the feasibility of cash-based interventions in the project areas.
  • Develop and manage cash distribution mechanisms, including the selection of financial service providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of cash assistance.
  • Monitor the impact of cash assistance on beneficiaries and adjust strategies as needed.

4. Contextual Awareness and Coordination:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the local context, including security, local dynamics, and humanitarian needs in the project regions.
  • Collaborate with humanitarian organizations, government agencies, and local authorities to synchronize relief efforts.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project implementation.

Job Requirements:

Qualification:

  • University graduate with degree in Social Science, Gender Studies, Rule of Law or equivalent degree and others relevant section
  • At least five years’ experience of managing and similar projects
  • Training in project management, Planning, M&E and report writing, Food emergency project
  • Must be a track history in project management that has project management skills.
  • Having skills in planning, designing and implementing project.
  •  Have skills to write donor reports and conduct trainings.
  • Strong & proven communication and Pashto, Dari and English language skills
  •  Having knowledge and skills of supervision, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Able to travel to the project site as required.
  • Have the skills to build good relation with the community.
  • Ability to work under pressured environment.
