Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and Treatment:

  Identifying and treating illnesses and injuries, using a combination of physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and medical knowledge. 

• Prescribing Medication and Treatment Plans:

  Determining appropriate medications, dosages, and treatment plans based on the patient's condition. 

• Patient Education and Counseling:

  Explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures to patients and their families. 

• Preventive Care:

  Vaccinating patients, providing health advice, and promoting healthy lifestyles to prevent diseases. 

• Referral to Specialists:

  Identifying when a patient needs specialized care and referring them to appropriate specialists. 

• Record Keeping:

  Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient. 

• Additional Responsibilities (may vary by setting):

• Emergency Care: Providing immediate medical attention in emergency situations. 
• Surgical Procedures: Performing or assisting in routine surgeries. 
• Supervising Medical Staff: Overseeing the work of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
