We specialize in a wide range of laboratory testing services, including Genotyping & PCR/Molecular Biology, Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry, Microbiology, Hematopathology, Chemical Pathology, and routine diagnostic testing.

Job Descriptions:

The General Manager of the HUMAN LABS® is responsible for the overall operational management and administration. He/She ensures effective service delivery, quality control, staff management, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The role includes supervising day-to-day operations, coordinating with clinical teams, overseeing personnel, and managing resources to ensure the laboratory delivers accurate and timely diagnostic services.

The General Manager upholds the philosophy, goals, and ethical standards of HUMAN LABS®, ensuring that services are delivered with professionalism, compassion, and respect for human dignity. He/She will work under the direct supervision of Chairman.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operational Management
    • Supervise and manage daily laboratory functions, including technical, clerical, and support services.
    • Ensure effective scheduling and utilization of staff and laboratory resources.
    • Oversee procurement and inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment.
  2. Personnel Management
    • Lead and supervise laboratory staff, ensuring that all team members are qualified, trained, and performing effectively.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify staff training and development needs.
    • Facilitate continuous professional development and internal training programs.
  3. Financial & Administrative Oversight
    • Assist in budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor third-party billing accuracy and revenue cycle operations.
    • Maintain records and documentation in accordance with internal and regulatory standards.
  4. Customer Service & Communication
    • Ensure timely and accurate communication of test results to clinicians and clients.
    • Maintain effective relationships with referring physicians, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Address complaints or issues related to laboratory services promptly.
  5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Implement and monitor laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs.
    • Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 15189).
    • Monitor laboratory test accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
  6. Data Review & Reporting
    • Evaluate laboratory data and performance indicators for accuracy, turnaround time, and service quality.
    • Share regular operational reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) with the Chairman or designated supervisor.
    • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Policy & Documentation
    • Ensure laboratory policies and SOPs are up-to-date, accessible, and adhered to.
    • Support and implement internal audits and corrective actions where necessary.
  8. Technology & Process Improvement
    • Monitor laboratory information systems (LIS) and technology applications for operational efficiency.
    • Recommend upgrades and improvements in processes and equipment where applicable.
  9. Safety & Risk Management
    • Enforce health and safety protocols within the laboratory.
    • Monitor incidents, perform risk assessments, and support corrective actions.
  10. Other Duties
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chairman

Job Requirements:

  1. Education:
    1. Certified Clinical Pathologist with diploma/certificate in Health Care Administration

OR

    1. Bachelor Degree in Medical Lab Technology with Master in Health Care Administration or Health Care Management

OR

    1. MHA, MBA Major or Minor in Management or healthcare Management from recognized Institution 
    2. Documents attestation from MoHE, Afghanistan required
  1. Experience and Work:
    1. Minimum 2 years of Clinical Laboratory Management is preferred
    2. Experience with departmental budgets, inventory logistics, instrument acquisition, and personnel and labor laws
    3. Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations
    4. Experience in customer support is a plus
