The senior mining Legal Specialist, reporting directly to the Directorate of Aynak Copper Project, is responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating all relevant applicable laws and legal instruments related to the mining sector. The candidate should possess knowledge and skills in contract analysis and conducting overall research.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Legal Specialist's key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Provide legal advice and guidance on matters pertaining to Directorate of Aynak Copper Project operations.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate mining-related contracts, agreements, permits, and other legal documents.
3. Conduct comprehensive research on legal issues and relevant mining laws and regulations.
4. Analyze and interpret legal issues, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
5. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and government authorities on legal matters related to mining activities.
6. Represent the Directorate of Aynak Copper Project in legal proceedings when necessary.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of new laws and regulations related to the mining sector.
8. Stay updated with the latest developments in mining laws and regulations.
9. Ensure that mining activities adhere to environmental and social responsibility standards.
10. Prepare reports and documentation related to legal aspects of mining operations.
11. Maintain records of legal documentation and correspondence related to mining matters.

To be considered for the position of Senior Legal Specialist, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Master's degree in Law. Preference will be given to candidates with higher degrees.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a related legal field. Additional years of experience are advantageous.
3. Proficiency in written and spoken Pashto/Dari and English languages.
4. Competency in MS-Office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
