Bank-e-Millie Afghan (BMA) was the first financial institution established in Afghanistan in 1933. Similarly, it was the first financial institution established in a public-private partnership set up with 72% share held by the private sector. Job Descriptions:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the bank complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Provide compliance training and guidance to staff across departments.
  • Monitoring and identifying suspicious transactions and its disclosure to the Regulators.
  • Investigate any incidents or violations of compliance standards.
  • Maintain records of compliance activities, including complaints, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries
  • To comply with Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) at Central Bank of Afghanistan for reporting of Large Cash Transaction Report (LCTR)/ Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) as per AML laws.
  • Attend all the Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA) meetings regularly and update the chief compliance officer.
  • Compliance of FATF (Financial Action Task Force) recommendation relevant to the bank.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the Senior Management.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Finance & Banking. Master’s degree will be preferred.

  • Certification: CAMS certification is mandatory.

  • Experience:

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in banking, or with another financial institution.

    • Familiarity with Afghanistan’s rules and regulations.

    • Prior banking sector experience will be preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical abilities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
