Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).
AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).
IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world
Job Summary:
AFGA is hiring trained/ qualified MHT nutrition Nurse for it’s a MHTs .The Nutrition Nurse is responsible for delivering quality nutrition and nursing services at health facilities and through mobile health and nutrition teams. The role involves screening, admission, and follow-up of children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM), conducting food demonstrations, and providing counseling on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). The Nutrition Nurse ensures adherence to national protocols by carrying out health checks, administering treatments, and offering direct nursing care such as dressing, vital signs monitoring, and medication support. In addition, the Nutrition Nurse will support Vitamin A supplementation, deworming, routine under-5 OPD care, and IMNCI/ICCM services. The position also requires maintaining accurate records, managing nutrition supplies, preparing timely reports, and strengthening referral linkages with health facilities. The Nutrition Nurse will actively participate in mobile health and nutrition activities, capacity building, and health education sessions, while ensuring compliance with AFGA and MoPH guidelines.
