Job Descriptions:

The Watchman is responsible for implementing and controlling safety and security procedures within Herat-Afghanistan. He is reporting to the direct supervisor and will be responsible for the following functions.

  • Conduct 100% ID card check for personnel and visitors.
  • Always be alert, smart and punctual. 
  • React swiftly to any Action On and participate in every exercise and rehearsal conducted by security team. 
  • Capability of handover/takeover shifts.
  • Acting as a fire warden during fire.
  • Monitor the activities of the personnel directly outside the post. 
  • Monitor the exterior area for unauthorized objects. 
  • Adherence and implementation of security SOPs applicable for managing access control of the compound.
  • Registration of all the visitors entering/exiting.
  • Communicate (Cell Phones, VHF) to supervisor/manger on emergencies cases.
  • Control access and exit of property and assets, entering and exiting.
  • Ensure that all persons authorized to carry weapons to clear their weapons at the weapons clearing area.
  • Assist and escort newly arrived mission personnel and visitors to locate the
    right offices and the staff members they are looking for.
  • Conduct physical vehicle and personnel search at all entrances and facilities before entry is permitted.
  • Conduct routine perimeter and compound foot patrols.
  • Report all abnormalities observed during his/her tour of duty immediately to the supervisors/manger.
  • Safeguard all vehicles at car parks and direct/control traffic during peak hours as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and serviceability of all post equipment at all times and report any damage, loss or malfunction to the shift supervisor.
  • Undertake escort duties and other duties as may be directed by the Supervisor of TBS manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a reliable identity document, such as an Afghanistan National ID (NID).
  • Knowledge of relevant fields.
  • Ability to speak local languages (Dari/Pashto) and basic knowledge of English.
  • Ability to work in a team and shifting system.
  • Ability to analyses and resolve relevant issues.
  • Demonstrates an eagerness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Consistently arrives on time and maintains regular attendance.
  • Dependable and trustworthy in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions effectively.
  • Understands and adheres to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments and tasks.
  • Maintains attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in work.
  • Basic ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors.
