Job Descriptions:

The Site Engineer – Greenhouses Project will be responsible for the on-site supervision, construction, installation, and technical monitoring of greenhouse structures under the organization’s agricultural and livelihood development program. The role ensures that all greenhouse activities are implemented in accordance with approved designs, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

The Site Engineer will work closely with the Technical Specialist, horticulture teams, and community members to ensure timely and high-quality construction, contributing to sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural production systems that enhance food security and women’s livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision and Construction Management:

  • Supervise daily on-site construction activities for greenhouse units, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings, BoQs, and quality standards.
  • Ensure that construction work follows approved specifications, materials, and environmental guidelines.
  • Monitor contractors, laborers, and community workers involved in greenhouse construction.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of site activities, material usage, and workforce attendance.
  • Ensure proper installation of irrigation systems, ventilation, drainage, and solar components (if applicable).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of field experience in construction supervision, preferably in agriculture or greenhouse projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods, structural design, and irrigation systems.
  • Experience working in rural or community-based development projects preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BoQs, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; basic English skills preferred.
