Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

• Conduct household surveys using Kobo Toolbox to identify and verify eligible households with children aged 6-12 months for cash assistance and Baby First Foods WASH Package distributions.
• Conduct hygiene promotion and WASH awareness sessions for caregivers, households, and family members during Baby First Foods WASH Package distributions.
• Promote safe food handling, preparation, storage, and hygiene practices linked to complementary feeding and home-based food fortification (MNP).
• Support household-level hygiene education for families with children aged 6-12 months.
• Reach community members through integrated Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) approaches focusing on First Foods and hygiene practices.
• Support food demonstration sessions conducted through Madar Kitchens and Mother Kitchens by integrating hygiene and food safety messages. • Assist Mother-to-Mother First Food Circles, Innovation Kitchens, and community labs with hygiene promotion and safe preparation practices.
• Promote hygiene standards in locally produced complementary foods and community-based food enterprises.
• Distribute and explain the use of hygiene-related materials, job aids, and IEC/BCC tools, including recipe books and nutrition-on-a-budget materials.
• Support training sessions for Community Health Workers (CHWs), nutrition counselors, women, and youth groups on hygiene, food safety, and WASH practices.
• Coordinate with CHWs, nutrition teams, and livelihood staff to ensure integrated delivery of hygiene, nutrition, and WASH messages.
• Provide on-the-job support and follow-up to ensure correct adoption of promoted practices.
• Maintain accurate records of hygiene promotion sessions, household visits, and beneficiaries reached.
• Collect basic monitoring data and report progress, challenges, and community feedback to supervisors.
• Support post-distribution monitoring and follow-up visits for Cash, WASH and hygiene-related interventions.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Public Health, Social Sciences, Economics, Nursing, or Midwifery.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Hygiene Promoter or in a related role.
• Familiar with KOBO software.
• Experience in household surveys (Kobo Toolbox), cash distribution, and community mobilization is a significant asset.
• Fluency in the official languages (Pashto and Dari) with working knowledge of reading and writing in English.
• Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
