Our team of more than 7,000 staff and local volunteers work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, providing Health and Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Education and Livelihoods programming that creates the foundation for community resilience.

We do this by working with local actors to develop safe and inclusive local programming that is evidence based, conflict sensitive, climate smart, and reaches those in need.

Relief International is an alliance of four organizations with one shared mission, comprised of Relief International, Inc., Relief International-France, Relief International-UK and Relief International-Europe, which operate under a one-team concept under a single senior leadership team.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Conduct spot checks at various times around the RI office premises.
  2. Ensure at least one guard is always stationed at the entrance of the RI office/warehouse.
  3. Keep the entrance door closed at all times.
  4. Remain awake and alert at all times.
  5. Monitor the street and watch for any unusual activity.
  6. Listen for strange noises and stay alert for any further developments (e.g., sounds of explosions).
  7. Politely welcome visitors.
  8. Request visitors to check their bags to ensure no weapons are inside.
  9. Ask visitors for their ID and the reason for their visit.
  10. escort visitors into the relevant department/individual if needed.
  11. Politely ask strangers not to park their vehicles in front of the office/warehouse. If they refuse, inform the safety and Access officer.
  12. In case of a gun threat, comply with the demands and, if possible, ring the alarm.
  13. Treat the guard room as a place of work and avoid distractions.
  14. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality to ensure the security and safety of all staff.
  15. Suggest improvements to enhance the success of the work.
  16. Always inform the safety and Access officer about any significant events.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or completion of a relevant security training course is a privilege.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a security guard, preferably with an international or national NGO.
  • Basic knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new security measures.

Requirements:

  • Honest, cooperative, and obedient.
  • Serious and dedicated to the role.
  • Firm and assertive in carrying out duties.
  • Polite and respectful in interactions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain security protocols clearly.
