Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

The Project Manager will lead the coordination, implementation, and reporting of the School Feeding Project in partnership with the Donor. This role is fundamental in ensuring the nutritious food items’ smooth distribution across the schools, including Bread and Fortified Biscuits, thus enhancing students' learning environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination & Implementation:
  • Oversee all aspects of project implementation, ensuring alignment with goals and timelines.
  • Manage the distribution process of food items, guaranteeing timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  1. Resource Management:
  • Allocate and manage resources effectively to meet project objectives.
  • Track project progress and make necessary adjustments to timelines and resources as needed.
  1. Staff Support & Development:
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff to enhance their skills and promote accountability.
  • Foster a team-oriented work environment that encourages communication and collaboration.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the primary liaison between ASIO, DONOR, and local authorities to ensure project alignment and cooperation.
  • Secure necessary approvals for project activities and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  1. Risk Management & Reporting:
  • Identify and manage potential risks to the project’s success.
  • Ensure transparency in project activities and maintain accurate records of progress and resource use.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, challenges, and accomplishments to the relevant stakeholders.
  1. Capacity Building:
  • Develop strategies to build local capacity in school feeding initiatives, enhancing sustainability beyond project completion.
  • Implement best practices to ensure the ongoing success of the school feeding program.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Health, Nutrition, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in food security and nutrition sectors.
  • Strong understanding of school feeding programs and related partnerships with organizations like Donor.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and capacity building.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, particularly in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS. Office programs and the ability to manage project-related data effectively.
