Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

A Finance Manager is a key professional responsible for ensuring the financial health of an organization. They play a crucial role in conducting accurate data analysis and offering advice to senior management on strategies to maximize profits and secure long-term success for the ATOA Organization.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • The Finance Manager will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives, mainly regarding financial & accounting-related matters.
  • Coordinate with employees and department/section heads for clearance and final settlement of employees.
  • Conducting accurate data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with business partners and senior management on processes and projects while representing the goals of the organization.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit to ensure that accounts and records are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination of accounting, disbursement, and processes & procedures to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor advances and receivables.
  • Recover advances and other expenses from employees.
  • Define and develop the financial accounting system, including the chart of accounts and account codes.
  • Coordinate with the Director General with reference to the operations of local and foreign bank accounts/transactions.
  • Correspond with the banks regarding relevant issues.
  • Check and verify the bank receipt, payment vouchers, and cheques before signing by the authorized signatories. Deduct taxes from suppliers' pay.
  • Deduct taxes from suppliers' payments and arrange for their submission to tax authorities.
  • Monitor reconciliation of bank accounts with bank books.
  • Any other task assigned by higher authorities.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in finance and accounting.
  • MBA or similar degree.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills.
  • Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design, and presentations

  • Ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues responsibly and maturely.

  • Ability to use information technology effectively.
