About AWN

After the United Nation Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, where a group of women from various organizations and agencies of the United Nation participated; the theory to form a network for the Afghan women's cooperation and integration developed. With inspire from women's movement in different part of the world; finally, in 1995 participants (women) of the conference decided to establish Afghan Women’s Network (AWN).

Afghan Women's Network is the foundation for Afghan women's movement, which serves as a stable network for growth of those women's organizations they are active in the country.

Afghan Women's Network has active and considerable presence in Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Kandahar, Bamyan, Paktia, Nangarhar and Kunduz, and is also active through its member in other provinces of Afghanistan. Afghan Women's Network works as the umbrella for its member organizations. As well as projects related to issues (gender-based violence, strengthening of youth and education for girls) implement with coordination of its member. Afghan Women's Network has over then 3500 individual members and 140 women's organizations in its membership. The AWN envisions an Afghanistan in which women & men live in a justice and discrimination free society.

Job Description

 

  • Support the implementation of project activities according to the approved work plan and Timeline;
  • Ensure Timely and effective executive of activates related to women’s empowerment and community engagement;
  • Assist the Program Manager in planning and coordinating project interventions;
  • Ensure that project activities meet quality standards and expected results;
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, community leaders, partners, and women beneficiaries;
  • Liaise with local authorities, beneficiaries and relevant institutions to facilitate smooth project implementation;
  • Support and organize coordination meeting with Stakeholders;
  • Promote community participation, particular Women’s involvement in project activities;
  • Facilitate and organize training sessions, workshops, and community meeting with beneficiaries;
  • Support awareness sessions on livelihood opportunities,  and community development;
  • Ensure that training activities are conducted effectively and documented properly;
  • Monitor project progress and track indicators;
  • Collect data and maintain project records and documentation.
  • Track project indicators and results against planned targets
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation.
  • Maintain organized project records and documentation;
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports;
  • Assist in preparing donor reports and project evaluations;
  • Provide regular updates to the program manager on progress, challenges, and achievements
  • Assist the Program Manager in planning and coordination tasks
  • Support logistical arrangements for project activities.
  • Track project expenses and assist with financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
  • Participate in internal meetings and planning sessions.
  • Provide support to other project-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor degree in Project Management, Law , social science, Political Science or any other related field;
  • Minimum of 2 -3 years of relevant experience in Project implementation or coordination and Management with national or international NGOs
  • Experience in Project Planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, organizing training, workshops, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Proficiency in drafting reports, Budget tracing, resource management, and official correspondence;
  • Skilled in organizing events, facilitating meetings, and maintaining stakeholder relationship;
  • Excellent writing and communication and analytical skills;
  • Experience working with Filed Stakeholder, and beneficiary;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and strong interpersonal and networking abilities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written both English and local language/s is required.
  •  Understanding and knowledge of basic computer applications such as MS Words, Excel and data base management;
