Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization APBHO has emerged as a non-governmental, non-political, not-for-profit organization in April 2019 with its long experience as a team (Youth Council) advocating for the rights of communities especially children and women affected by conflicts, and humanitarian crisis in fragile settings.
Most of APBHO’s peacebuilding efforts focus on community-based conflict resolution and environmental peace-building on grass-root level. APBHO aims to shift repressive gender norms and equip citizens with the skills to resolve any type of differences and conflicts non-violently.
Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization (APBHO) strategically implements sustainable economic empowerment/asset creation, time-critical emergency responses with various commodities including Food and Non-Food Items, research, advocacy, and promotion of peace projects with a cross-cutting focus on youth and women.
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Business/Marketing Skills Officer will build the capacity of trainees in business development, marketing, and entrepreneurship, support market linkages, and contribute to improving income generation opportunities and sustainability of livelihood interventions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence with APBHO policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Promote and share ideas for technical improvement
- Ensure proper filing of documents
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market assessments to identify demand, supply, and opportunities.
- Deliver training on basic business skills, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
- Provide coaching on business planning, costing, pricing, and record-keeping.
- Facilitate linkages between trainees and local markets, buyers, and suppliers.
- Support product development based on market needs and trends.
- Coordinate closely with project staff and other trainers.
- Identify potential market actors for partnerships and linkage support.
- Support individuals, women groups, and producer groups to access and sell in markets.
- Work closely with vocational trainers to align product design and enterprise types with market demand.
- Identify exhibition opportunities and facilitate participation of beneficiaries.
- Maintain accurate records of market linkage activities, including contacts, agreements, and sales outcomes.
- Prepare and submit reports on market assessments, linkage activities, and lessons learned.
- Contribute to the overall success of the livelihood project.
- Maintain proper coordinate with project relevant staff.
- Submit weekly reports to the snr. livelihood project officer.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the snr. livelihood project officer to support the effective implementation of project activities.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or related field, master degree is a plus point
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with INGO/NGO.
- Strong knowledge of local markets
