Job Description:
AWRO is seeking a Full-time Medical Doctors to further strengthen the implementation of the project through providing quality primary and/or secondary healthcare services, diagnose and treat patients, and support implementation of health & nutrition programs in line with national guidelines (BPHS/EPHS) and organizational protocols.
TOR:
The Medical Doctors will perform the following tasks, including but not limited to:
- Supervise the screening of children under 5 and pregnant/lactating women (PLW) for acute malnutrition.
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses and medical conditions according to national guidelines.
- Supervise all MHNT staff, ensuring quality service delivery and team coordination.
- Develop and update micro plans for MHNT visits to targeted communities.
- Issue medical prescriptions for children and PLW who are enrolled as project participants.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly activity reports of MHNT services.
- Manage the overall activities of the MHNT in designated target locations.
- Provide technical support and orientation to MHNT staff during implementation and trainings.
- Conduct general health screenings and consultations for under-5 children and PLW.
- Collaborate closely with nutrition staff for the assessment and management of SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) and MAM (Moderate Acute Malnutrition) cases.
- Other activities as relevant to the position or assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical (MD) from a recognized university
- Valid License to practice from Afghanistan government
- Minimum two years of working experience, preferably in humanitarian and emergency contexts
- Strong knowledge of national health guidelines
- Strong familiarity with maternal and child health and nutrition
- Only doctors who have successfully passed their final medical examination will be considered.
