Description
The Wellsite Operations Geologist (Oil and Gas Industry) is responsible for planning and supporting geophysical operations and well activities to support hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal, and field development projects. The role includes identifying geological formations, evaluating hydrocarbon potential, monitoring drilling and well logging operations, and providing technical and geological information necessary for project decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities
Geological Wellsite Operations
Provide geological and methodological support during workover operations, including logging, re-perforation, formation stimulation, and water shut-off treatments.
Coordinate and supervise geological, geophysical (well logging), and well testing support during drilling and well services operations.
Identify and characterize rock formations, potential reservoir intervals, cap rocks, and structural features.
Ensure proper collection, handling, and description of drill cuttings, core samples (conventional and sidewall), and fluid/gas samples.
Ensure detailed geological logging and description of drill cores and cuttings at the wellsite.
Monitor drilling progress and provide geological guidance regarding coring points, casing seats, and reaching target depth.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare Daily Geological Reports (DGR), composite logs, core/cuttings description logs, and Final Well Reports (FWR) for project teams and the COMPANY.
Update structural well sections, correlation schemes, and wellsite geological documentation in real time during drilling and workover operations.
Maintain accurate geological databases, digital log archives, and wellsite sample catalogs.
Present geological evaluations, subsurface risks, and operational recommendations for project management.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
Adhere to COMPANY's HSE policies and procedures.
Conduct field activities in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
Identify and report field hazards and risks.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of geological samples. 

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Geoscientist or Geologist certification (where applicable).
Certifications demonstrated proficiency in specialized geological and geophysical/well logging software (e.g., techlog, Petrel, Kingdom) are desirable.
HSE and First Aid certifications.
Work Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant field geology experience in oil and gas exploration, reservoir characterization, or field development projects.
Proven experience in providing geological, geophysical (well-logging), and wellsite support for oil and gas operations.
Key Technical Skills
Geological and methodological support during drilling and workover operations, including logging, perforation, formation stimulation, and water shut-off treatments.
Core, cuttings, and fluid sampling procedures; practical knowledge of oil and gas exploration techniques, including well logging and gas monitoring (mud logging) analysis.
Geological and well logging data analysis, integration, and interpretation.
Formation evaluation, petrophysical assessment, pore pressure prediction, and real-time wellbore stability monitoring.
Languages:
Dari and/or Pashto fluent (spoken and written) mandatory.
English: Advanced to proficient level required, with strong business writing, negotiation, and professional communication skills.
Russian language skills are a distinct advantage.
