It has been working in Afghanistan since 1998 and is presently managing long-term and short-term humanitarian and development programs to the people in need in countries around the world. Job Description

Agriculture extension assistance is responsible to provide on-site assistance and support across all targeted districts of Takhar and Badakhshan, Provinces. This role involves traveling to targeted districts in order to conducting surveys and beneficiaries’ selection, coordinating, assisting the project team with the implementation of agricultural activities, project daily operations, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the agricultural related activities accordingly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local farming and conditions, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently in the field and accompanying high-ranking WFP and government officials, if needed.

Job Requirements

  •          Having good behavior with community people especially with beneficiaries
  •      Conducting assessment and survey for identifying and selection of eligible beneficiaries according to the predefined criteria.
  •        To assist the agronomist officer for developing training materials for technical training of project beneficiaries.
  •          Assisting the agronomist officer to organize technical training for project beneficiaries on vegetable gardening and greenhouse management.
  •          Contributing with agronomist officer for maintaining established greenhouse, kitchen gardening and nursery to provide technical support to project beneficiaries.
  •         Conducting income and expense survey with project beneficiaries.
  •        Regularly, monitoring the implementation of project activities.
  •           Providing regular weekly and monthly progressive reports to project agronomist officer.
  •      Any other task or activity assigned by agronomist officer and project manager.

Qualification/Requirements:

·         Minimum 3 Years of relevant work experience with International NGOs or UN Agencies

·         Computer skills at the operator level, especially with MS Office packages.

·         Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; English language proficiency is preferred

·         Ability or experience in the field of community driven development projects monitoring

·         Ability or experience of data verification and analysis.

·         Having strong report writing skills.  

·         Familiarity with various types of data collection methods and data management.

·         Experience in planning, reporting and budgeting.

·         Good communication skill and able to pass the massage/questions in local languages to the respondents.

·         Have good interpersonal skills and ability to plan work.

·         Supervisory, team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

·         Regional and cultural knowledge of areas of SFL field operations in Afghanistan

·         Willingness to work long hours when required

·         Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites and outside of duty station within Afghanistan and adjust to the SFL environment as frequently as required

·         Honest, proactive, well mannered, and must share values of SFL.

·         Willing to stay in field locations

·         Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment

·         To be an Afghan citizen.

  •       Preference will be given to those candidates who are local residents and are familiar with the project implementation area and communities and who have sufficient experience in RFS project implementation.
