Job Description
Weezha Medical Consultancy Service is seeking a qualified and experienced X-Ray Technician to join our medical team in Kabul.
The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for performing routine and specialized X-ray examinations, preparing and positioning patients, operating X-ray equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and ensuring appropriate radiation protection and patient safety.
The technician will also be responsible for digital X-ray image acquisition and processing, conventional/chemical film processing where applicable, maintaining accurate patient and imaging records, and properly storing and managing digital images.
The successful candidate will work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals, particularly orthopedic doctors and neurosurgeons, to provide appropriate diagnostic imaging for bone, joint, spinal, head, and trauma-related examinations.
The position also includes routine equipment checks, maintaining the X-ray room and equipment, identifying image-quality issues, reporting technical problems, and following clinic policies, infection-control procedures, radiation-safety standards, and medical ethics.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Radiology, Medical Imaging, X-Ray Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience as an X-Ray Technician.
Valid professional certification, license, or registration, where applicable.
Strong practical knowledge of X-ray equipment operation, patient positioning, exposure techniques, and radiographic procedures.
Knowledge and practical experience in digital X-ray image acquisition and processing, including DR/CR systems.
Knowledge of conventional/chemical X-ray film processing and development procedures where applicable.
Good understanding of radiation protection and radiation safety procedures.
Good computer skills and ability to work with digital medical systems and electronic patient records.
Ability to manage, store, retrieve, and transfer digital X-ray images.
Familiarity with PACS, RIS, or similar medical imaging systems is an advantage.
Previous experience working with orthopedic doctors and/or neurosurgeons is highly preferred.
Experience with bone, joint, spinal, head, and trauma-related X-ray examinations is an advantage.
Ability to perform routine equipment checks and identify or report technical problems.
Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
Professional, responsible, punctual, and attentive to detail.
Commitment to patient confidentiality, medical ethics, and safety standards.
