About Tamadur Pharmaceuticals Company

Tamadur Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company is registered with Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the year 2023. We have identified the need to develop and implement a pharmaceutical factory in line with the directorate of Food and Drug (The Ministry of Health) and Health Policy. The purpose of the company is to enhance the capacities of Afghanistan, effectively prevent and treat diseases that are of major concern to public health in Afghanistan. Based on our plan we will decide which medical devices are more needed for the people of Afghanistan with the permission of the Ministry of Health. Additionally, we installed a plant for syringe manufacturing.

Job Description

The General Manager – Factory is responsible for the overall management, performance, discipline, safety, cleanliness, and day-to-day operations of the factory. The General Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring that production, inventory, employees, facilities, quality, logistics, and administrative activities are properly coordinated and controlled.

The General Manager will report directly to the top management and will serve as the main point of accountability for factory operations. The position also requires close coordination with the Sales Team, distributors, customers, suppliers, guests, and other departments to ensure smooth business operations and achievement of company objectives.

 Duties & Responsibilities

Ø  Overall Factory Management: Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the factory, ensuring all departments work efficiently and in accordance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and business objectives.

Ø  Production Management: Plan, monitor, and control production activities to achieve production targets, maintain product quality, minimize waste, and ensure timely completion of orders.

Ø  Reporting to the top management: Provide regular reports to the top management regarding production, inventory, staffing, sales coordination, operational issues, expenses, maintenance, safety, and overall factory performance. Immediately escalate significant operational, financial, safety, or quality concerns.

Ø  Sales Team Engagement: Maintain active communication with the Sales Team regarding customer requirements, forecasts, order priorities, production availability, stock levels, delivery schedules, new products, and special requests. Conduct coordination meetings as required.

Ø  Stock-In Management: Ensure all incoming raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, spare parts, and other supplies are properly received, inspected, counted, documented, and stored.

Ø  Stock-Out Management: Ensure all outgoing materials and finished products are properly authorized, counted, documented, and dispatched. Maintain controls to prevent unauthorized stock movement, shortages, losses, or discrepancies.

Ø  Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee regular physical stock counts. Investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system/recorded quantities and report significant differences to the President.

Ø  Warehouse Management: Ensure proper organization, identification, storage, handling, rotation, and security of all inventory. Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements.

Ø  Factory Cleaning and Housekeeping: Ensure the entire factory, including production areas, warehouses, offices, common areas, washrooms, loading areas, and surrounding premises, is maintained in a clean, hygienic, organized, and professional condition. Establish cleaning schedules and assign responsibilities to appropriate employees or contractors.

Ø  Health and Safety: Promote and enforce workplace health and safety procedures. Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment and that machinery, work areas, emergency equipment, and facilities comply with applicable safety requirements.

Ø  Quality Control: Ensure products meet company quality specifications and applicable standards. Coordinate corrective and preventive actions when quality problems are identified.

Ø  Employee Management: Supervise factory employees and departmental supervisors, monitor attendance, productivity, discipline, teamwork, and performance, and address operational or personnel issues in coordination with management/HR.

Ø  Employee Training: Identify training requirements and arrange internal or external training programs for employees, including production procedures, equipment operation, safety, quality, hygiene, leadership, product knowledge, and other relevant skills. Maintain appropriate training records.

Ø  Meetings with Guests and Visitors: Professionally receive and meet customers, business partners, suppliers, auditors, government representatives, and other authorized guests visiting the factory. Coordinate factory tours and presentations where appropriate.

Ø  Distributor Engagement: Meet and communicate with distributors to understand requirements, address operational concerns, coordinate product availability and deliveries, obtain market feedback, and strengthen business relationships in coordination with the President and Sales Team.

Ø  Maintenance and Equipment: Ensure machinery, equipment, utilities, buildings, and factory infrastructure are properly maintained. Establish preventive maintenance schedules and ensure breakdowns are addressed promptly.

Ø  Dispatch and Logistics: Oversee order preparation, loading, dispatch, transportation coordination, and delivery documentation to ensure customers and distributors receive the correct products and quantities on time.

Ø  Cost and Waste Control: Monitor factory operating costs, material consumption, overtime, wastage, damage, utilities, and other expenses. Implement measures to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary costs without compromising quality or safety.

Ø  Documentation and Compliance: Ensure factory records, production reports, inventory documents, inspection records, maintenance logs, attendance records, training records, and other required documentation are complete and accurate.

Ø  Security and Asset Protection: Ensure appropriate controls are maintained for factory access, company property, inventory, equipment, confidential information, keys, and other assets.

Ø  Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve factory layout, processes, productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, employee performance, safety, cleanliness, and customer service.

Ø  Emergency Management: Take leadership responsibility during factory emergencies, machinery failures, safety incidents, supply interruptions, urgent customer requirements, or other operational disruptions.

Other Responsibilities: Perform any additional duties or projects assigned by the President that are reasonably related to the management and successful operation of the factory.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in BA or related field. A Master's degree would be preferable.

·       Proven 5+ years' experience in factory management, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.

·       Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and inventory management.

·       Excellent leadership and communication skills.

·       Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

·       Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.

 

Other Skills

·       Good communication and written skills specifically in English, Pashto, and Dari.

·       Good character and supportive with staff.

·       Proactive and enthusiastic personality to lead the tasks efficiently and effectively.
