Cashier

AAHO is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (“NGO”) dedicated to improving the health status of the people of Afghanistan in general and the health status of the residents of Kabul Districts 6, 7, and 13, in particular, through the operation of the Afshar Hospital. 

Afshar Hospital is a 100-bed capacity hospital located in Omid-e-Sabz Township, Darulaman (District 6). The organization provides healthcare to all who seek care, irrespective of religion, race, gender, age, or ability to pay.

Purpose:

A cashier is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per hospital standards and accurately and efficiently operating the cash register. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties in the Afshar Hospital during official working hours;
• Register patients in the “Patient Registration Station”;
• Perform duties in the “Main lobby cashier station” as other cashiers;
• Work in both cashier stations during day times and night times as per schedule;
• Data entry in the QuickBooks operating system;
• To receive payment from the patient;
• To make daily reports pertaining to both cashier stations;
• Submit payment reports to the finance department on a daily basis;
• Responsible for accurate data collection;
• Ensure adequate management of reception-related tasks;
• Monitor and supervise patient flow in the hospital;
• To guide the patients and visitors with inter-hospital departments;
• Perform any task given by the supervisor “Chief Financial Officer” (CFO);
• Report to the patient service manager monthly, or as often as requested;
• Participate actively in the design and implementation of the various on-the-job and in-service training programs organized in the hospital; and
• Actively update his knowledge on current best practice and national guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Having a BA in Economics, a BBA degree, and a diploma in accounting & finance.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cashier position.

3. Good English and computer skills with QuickBooks knowledge.

4. A bachelor's degree in accounting & finance (desired).
