Project Manager

SUO is a non-profit national organization established in 2020. Its aim is to provide social services, agricultural and livelihood support, and assistance to people affected by violence, conflict, and natural disasters in Afghanistan. SUO has implemented various emergency relief, agriculture, and livelihood projects across several provinces. The organization has a large pool of experienced staff and volunteers from different provinces of Afghanistan who support SUO in implementing its programs and achieving its humanitarian objectives.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the project in Baghlan Province. The PM ensures that project objectives are achieved on time, within scope, and in compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ø  Lead and manage the overall implementation of the project in accordance with the approved proposal, work plan, and budget.

Ø  Ensure timely and quality delivery of project activities and outputs in targeted areas.

Ø  Coordinate closely with government authorities, donors, UN agencies, partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

Ø  Supervise and support project staff, ensuring effective team performance and capacity development.

Ø  Ensure proper financial management, budget monitoring, and cost control in coordination with the finance and logistics teams.

Ø  Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Ø  Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and accountability principles.

Ø  Oversee project reporting, including progress, narrative, and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Ø  Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities, including any baselines, PDMs, and evaluations.

Represent the organization in coordination meetings, technical working groups, and official forums

• ØThe candidate must have very good written and verbal language skills in English as well as both national languages.
• Ø  Excellent Interpersonal skills especially in communication, negotiation, and convincing others.
• Ø  Familiarity with the targeted areas' cultural, geographic, social, and economic context and good analytical skills.
• Ø  Have at least 4 years of relevant work experience with nonprofit organizations.
• Ø  Good leadership skills and knowledge of laws.
• Ø  Proven understanding of project management, community coordination, and agricultural management.
• Ø  Excellent computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel and Data Analysis.
• Ø  Significant experience in leading teams and building team capacity.
• Ø  Ability to travel extensively to the project sites
• Ø  Proven ability to work in a culturally diverse team and independently.
• Ø  Accuracy, Flexibility, and Customer-friendly attitude.
• Ø  Result-oriented approach and Group Facilitation abilities.
• Ø  Willing to take on delegated responsibilities.
• Ø  Good problem-solving skills
