Community Mobilizers (Contingent to the project approval by the donor)

ActionAid is a non-governmental & non-profit international organization working towards achieving a world without poverty and injustice in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

ActionAid started its activities in Afghanistan in 2002 and was registered in Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan as non-governmental international organization “INGO”.

ActionAid-Afghanistan committed itself a long-term work with poor and excluded sections of the society through the Human Rights Based Development Approach, WASH, and livelihood programs in multiple provinces of Afghanistan.

The community mobilizer is responsible for maintaining close relationships with the communities to facilitate a smooth program and project implementation. Facilitate awareness creation measures and facilitate responses to conflict as a tool to enable their participation in their development process.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Community mobilizers have the most important role in all community level facilitation, and their work must be strategic to ensure that the community becomes spaces in which transparent, accountable, inclusive and proper development processes are practiced and institutionalized.
• Mobilize and sensitize communities on AHF activities and introduce the project to district and community level.
• Conducting creation of beneficiary selection committee under the AHF Project
• Conducting beneficiary selection Process in all targeted districts of Paktika, Jawzjan and Balkh.  
• Raise awareness of communities regarding the AHF Project activities.
• Organize first contact with the district and village's authorities.
• enhance community awareness, Support and identify the project right holders.
• Ensure people inclusion to AHF Project especially poor and excluded women and men disables and children.
• Provide related training to the right holders about the PSEA and gender-based initiatives.
• Facilitate interest and self-help groups in communities, with a focus on poor men and women and marginalized and excluded groups
• Facilitate and support the distributions at the community level.
• Assess training needs of the right holders in mid-stream and adjust refresher training.
• Any other official tasks given by line manager.
• Reports to the Project Coordinator or Project officer depend on the Project structure.
• Conducting a detailed assessment of the communities.

              Education & Training:

·       A bachelor’s degree is social science or a relevant subject

Experience:

3 years’ experience in social mobilization, training, and social work with involvement in emergency/livelihood program

Technical Skills:

·       Experience in community mobilization, preferably with INGO.

·       Team player with high level of facilitation skill.

·       Ability to work hard and long, self-driven

·       Hard worker under the high-pressure situation.
