Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

Project Manager is responsible for handling ongoing project activities and working closely with team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

The major responsibilities of Project Manager are: planning, overseeing and leading project from ideation through to completion. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and leading projects activities from ideation through to completion.
  • To develop a proper weekly and monthly plans for project activities.
  • Manage, monitor and evaluate implementation of the project activities in targeted communities.
  • Represent the organization through participation at provincial level meetings, coordination group meetings, stakeholder meetings and other social and government meetings in the province.
  • Orient project staff on the project scope and specific and planned activities.
  • Write regular reports on the implementation of project activities for both internal and external use.
  • Day-to-day management and supervision of the project staff, including recruitment, staff evaluation, and on-the-job orientation and training.
  • Promote team building, open communication among field staff and head office.
  • Responsible for project budget management and project expenditures and putting in place responsible accountability systems to ensure responsible and efficient project spending.
  • Put in place control and accountability systems to ensure reasonable and efficient use of funds.
  • Oversee the administrative, HR, logistic and procurement aspect of the project.
  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment for the project staff where all project staff working in best of their interest.
  • Ensure that all operations and implementations are according to the organizational rules and polices and align with donor requirements.
  • Providing advice on the management of projects.
  • Making sure that all the aims of the project are met.
  • Regularly/Occasional site visit of the project in order to trace the project as per requirements and schedule.
  • Offering new solutions to the project with limited resources and ensuring the project is completed within or before time.
  • Manage the project team including field monitor, finance assistant, supervisor and other office members.
  • Develop schedules and plans for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the completeness, quality and timely submission of project reports.
  • Prepare presentations to senior management including chairman.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture/livestock management or similar related field
  • 5 years’ working experience in relevant field.
  • Excellent communication skills and English Proficiency, both oral and written.
  • Excellent computer skills in word processing and excel.
  • Outstanding team building and management skills.
  • Having negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and get measurable results through a diverse team.
  • Ability to manage and direct a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Time management and organization skills
