YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions.

Job Descriptions:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and other stakeholders, and organizing coordination meetings with stakeholders in province
  • Develop work plans and monitor project activity progress at provincial level
  • Identify the influential community members in the target locations with coordination of sector
  • Assisting in collecting training participants
  • Develop plan and conduct community awareness events on children rights and victim support
  • Develop advocacy network with stakeholders to support children’s survivors of violence
  • Support and guide procurement, admin, and finance activities are according to budget & policies
  • Organizing and conducting trainings for the pre-identified beneficiaries
  • Conducting post-follow from the organized trainings
  • Ensure effective documentation of program and progress by capturing lessons learnt and good practices.
  • Represent the organization & project in relevant meetings and national forums on provincial level
  • Adhere to the organization code of conduct in professional and personal life and report breaches of the code to the appropriate persons
  • Lead the implementation of project activities in the province, ensuring alignment with the national work plan and organizational objectives.
  • Supervise provincial staff and monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of project outputs, addressing any issues or delays.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess the progress of project activities and CSC, ensuring the quality of services being delivered.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Ensure that you work to the best of your ability and demonstrate high levels of commitment to organization in order to ensure the objectives of your role and the country programme are met.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of the provincial budget, ensuring expenditures are aligned with project activities and financial forecasts.
  • Approve provincial-level procurement, following organizational policies and procedures.
  • Lead, manage and motivate a team, ensuring that they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance.
  • Manage the provincial project team, including recruitment, supervision, and performance evaluations of staff.
  • Ensure a positive and productive working environment for the provincial team.
  • Build the capacity of local staff through training, mentoring, and ongoing support.
  • Identify risks to the successful implementation of the project at the provincial level and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Address operational challenges and propose solutions to the national management team.
  • Ensure that any conflicts or issues arising during implementation are managed appropriately and escalated when necessary.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

(EDUCATION, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES):
 

  • University degree in Project Management, Law or other relevant fields, Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 year of relevant experience in project management, and field coordination working with NGOs.
  • Attending child protection trainings at various organizations
  • Ability of training facilitation on promoting children’s rights and child protections issues.
  • Experience of working on human rights and child rights projects
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and Project team management capabilities
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in Pashto, Dari and English language
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
