The Shuhada Organization (SO) is an Afghan organization, non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit, which has been working for more than 35 years for the poor and needy people of Afghanistan in various areas with different programs such as health, education and training, educational programs, vocational training, having nurseries (shelter and orphanage), emergency aid to the destitute and deserving people, and programs for the improvement of rural living standards. The principles and objectives of this institution have been and are charitable services and humanitarian aid for needy and vulnerable people.
Position Overview:
The English Teacher will be responsible for effectively planning, administering, ensuring coherence, and implementing educational initiatives for the children residing in the orphanage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1 - Uphold and adhere to all policies established by the Shuhada Organization, ensuring they are considered in executing official duties.
2 - Provide collaboration and guidance in the development of educational and training initiatives within the orphanage to effectively support the educational and developmental needs of the children.
3 - Prepare and implement educational and training plans on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis, following the necessary approvals from the orphanage supervisor.
4 - Regularly coordinate and oversee the daily timetable of school and recreational activities for children in the orphanage, with consideration for seasonal variations, the academic calendar, and winter holidays.
5 - Consistently monitor the ethical conduct of children and their mothers within both the orphanage and outdoor spaces.
6 - Collect information regarding students’ academic performance from subject teachers after each term through a designated assessment form.
7 - Organize a reinforcement program for kindergarten lessons, addressing any academic challenges based on a structured daily schedule. This program will accommodate the varying needs of students by gathering updates on their academic status from teachers at different levels during two sessions: morning and afternoon, with each session comprising three classes of 45 minutes each.
8 - Continuously oversee the implementation of assigned homework for students residing in the orphanage to ensure their academic progress.
9 - Facilitate specialized classes focused on home management, personal hygiene, and behavior for both children and their mothers.
10 - Facilitate the provision of educational supplies, including stationery and textbooks, through an official request from the orphanage administration.
11 - Conduct regular assessments to maintain personal and environmental cleanliness standards within the orphanage.
12 - Design, plan, and implement supplementary programs, including but not limited to essay writing, poetry composition, public speaking, theater, and art initiatives.
13 - In the event of utilizing residual and food privileges, the teacher is required to be present at the designated location for a duration of 24 hours.
14 - Assume full responsibility for managing all administrative, educational, and service-related matters of the facility during any periods of absence of the orphanage supervisor.
