WDIO is nationally based in Kabul and maintains field operations through five regional offices, with over ninety-seven staff members, located in Kabul, Bamiyan & Logar (Center-Region), Ghor & Herat (West-Region), Nangarhar, Laghman & Kunar (East-region), Takhar & Badakhshan (North-Region) and Kandahar (South-Region). WDIO maintains the departments of Program, Operation, Human Resources Finance, and Procurement. Each department operates according to the WDIO written policies and procedure manuals updated based on the context of the area where WDIO is implementing projects.

 

WDIO is committed to applying a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards acts of sexual exploitation and abuse by its personnel. In 2003, the United Nations Secretary-General issued a Bulletin on “Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse” (ST/SGB/2003/13) (“the Bulletin”). To support the system-wide implementation of the zero-tolerance policy, the Director-General has decided to adopt the standards of conduct and provisions on PSEA set by the Bulletin, adjusted as necessary, to be applied by WDIO personnel, as follows.

Job Summary

The Master Trainer is responsible for ensuring quality education through staff development training, workshops, and teachers’ coaching, and other various training sessions as per the project plan, making effective module practice teaching in TLC classes by supportive supervision and reporting. On-the-job assistance during the visits, collecting school and training data. Master Trainer reports to the Education Officer/ Sr. Education Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Make plans and conduct training and other coaching as per the project work plan and prepare modules to develop the teachers' and staff's quality for ensuring quality education.
  • Enhancing the capacity of staff & teachers, providing need-based pedagogy training/workshops.
  • Do supportive supervision to develop the PO capacity through classroom visits & other activities as per target.
  • Observe classroom teaching-learning process and activities and provide on-the-job training and assistance to the TLC teachers.
  • Prepare a training Implementation plan for provincial-level targeted training.
  • Evaluate training sessions and analyze the training data
  • Submits accurate and proper, training, classroom observation, and other relevant reports to the provincial manager promptly.
  • Make sure that classrooms are safe and secure, and equipped with classroom, students, and teachers’ kits.
  • Communicate with to check the progress of lessons in the classroom taking place according to the monthly/semiannual lessons progress plan
  • Help the teachers in planning or running activities in the classroom, if needed provide model lessons in the classroom.
  • Check the daily lesson plan, Classroom attendance, and Daily lesson progress in case anything is missing discuss it with responsible for the project for a solution.
  • Make sure that PED/DED and hub school receive a copy of the student’s progress sheets.
  • Make monthly and quarterly reports preserve in the office and send them to the concerned authority for project requirements 
  • Attend Departmental & other meetings as required and attend outside training as agreed upon with the line manager
  • Ensure the materials and their proper use in ASLC to increase the involvement of teachers & students in ensuring quality education.
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring team members are appropriately trained, supported, and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned following the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so
  • Training the targeted trainees in methodology and other training packages specified for the project.
  • Collect data on the training and impacts of the training.
  • Filing the records of WDIO training and writing reports on the activities he/she conducts.
  • Preparing/compiling individual training manuals for each training package mentioned below.
  • Learning about new training areas and training contents needed for the TLC, and other related programs.
  • Regularly visit the classes whether the training contents are being implemented in the school/class/community environment to gauge the impact of the training delivered.

Any other tasks assigned by his line supervisor and accountable to senior management.

  • Having at least a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Planning, Educational Leadership& Management, Education, Social Science, Sociology, Psychology, or any other relevant field.
  • Having at least 2-3 years’ experience from an accredited college or university and having a master degree will be preferred.
  • Required Languages – Excellent Pashto and Dari reading, writing, and verbal skills, Fluent in English, reading, writing, and verbal skills.  
  • Enough experience in designing and delivery of training.
  • Experience in preparing session plans for the short-term capacity-building training.
  • Excellent interpersonal Skills and ability to work under stress to meet the objectives of the assignment.
  • Ability to establish good relations with all stakeholders.
  •  To have hands-on experience in computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop), other multimedia software, internet, and e-mail skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Pashto, and Dari languages.
  • Excellent writing, reading, and speaking skills in English, Dari, and Pashto languages.
  • Strong typing skills in English and local languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals
