The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Tasks
To Clean the staff house related rooms (inside and outside) including furniture and equipment on daily basis.
To support other support staff in the washing office compound whenever is required and to clean the doors, windows and windows and glasses.
To Check and look after the toilets/bathrooms and its needs i.e., toilet paper, brushes, cleaning powder and soap etc. and report any problems immediate.
To take away the garbage of the related staff house rooms daily and burn the waste printed papers at the place prepared for it daily.
To wash the staff house towels, bead sheets and change them after check-out of the guest (staff leaving in staff house or once a week.
To help the cooks while serving dinner and breakfast for the staff.
To assist the tea-person with distribution and preparing tea when the tea-person is busy or when s/he is absent.
To turn off all the lights and unplug forgotten heater/AC of the staff house rooms
To assist MWRPO colleagues in carrying or moving office documents or equipment within the office compound when needed and especially during moving process from one premises to another.
To notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
To Follow all health and safety regulations.
Tasks of inter organizational relation
Maintain good cooperation and relations with all units of MWRPO-DI staff for the healthy intake of food at NAC premises
Act according to the policy and regulations of NAC
Actively contributes to the successful development and good reputation of the NAC.
To do any other duties assigned by the Admin Officer and Head of Service Support Unit.
Language requirements, if any
Fluency in spoken Dari and Pashto, with basic writing proficiency.
Qualifications Required
Basic education in hygiene is required, and completion of grade 12 is preferred, e from the local residence
Work Experience
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in similar positions.
