Job Descriptions:

The PSEA Focal Point is responsible for leading the organization's efforts to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse. This includes implementing PSEA policies, raising awareness through training, ensuring compliance, and establishing safe reporting mechanisms. The role involves coordinating case management, supporting survivors, and working with staff, partners, and communities to promote a culture of accountability and protection. Additionally, the PSEA Focal Point represents the organization in PSEA networks and ensures continuous monitoring and capacity building to uphold ethical and safeguarding standards.

Shelter for Life implements safe and PSEA-sensitive human resources practices and processes throughout recruitment, contracting, and performance management to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff and beneficiaries.

Shelter for Life has zero-tolerance policy on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct PSEA training and raise awareness among staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
  • Ensure PSEA measures are integrated into projects and community engagement.
  • Establish and manage confidential reporting mechanisms.
  • Receive, document, and refer cases following organizational protocols.
  • Support PSEA integration in recruitment, contracts, and procurement.
  • Act as the main PSEA contact and participate in coordination networks.
  • Monitor compliance, update policies, and report on PSEA activities.
  • Ensure survivor-centered case handling and link survivors to necessary services.
  • Maintain respectful conduct with beneficiaries and perform other assigned duties.

Qualification/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related position.
  • 3 to 4 years relevant work experience in the field of PSEA with NGOs, INGOs or UN agencies.
  • Computer skills at the operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
  • Fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken. 
  • Ability or experience in the field of community driven development
  • Having strong report writing skills.   
  • Experience in planning, reporting and managing.
  • Good communication skill and able to pass the massage/questions in local languages to the respondents.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and ability to plan work.
  • Supervisory, team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Regional and cultural knowledge of areas of SFL field operations in Afghanistan
  • Willingness to work long hours when required
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites and outside of duty station within Afghanistan and adjust to the SFL environment as frequently as required
  • Honest, proactive, well mannered, and must share values of SFL.
  • Willing to stay in field locations
  • Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment.
